from the 2014 published text:
The first-six part entitled 99 Problems to be told to a plant was engendered by one Rosemary Lee in 2012 to be presented alongside/within her exhibition for Panmediale, On Sensitivity, Plants & Noise.
The second-is part entitled The Excavation of Its Future Memory (in reference to the 99 Problems) is exactly that and was completed in the fall of 2014.
The images were captured in the interim period between the written works. They serve as investigations sometimes similar in nature to those written in a more expository fashion.

It has been awhile since this little project first flip-flopped into existence, a curious book. For some time after I hoped to find a way to make it more accessible—its book form, while beautiful and a lovely artifact, remains rather static and the tumbling concepts pressed upon the pages neglected to remain as unruly as they were in gathered bits of paper strewn over a desk.
While this format is by no means perfect for the ideas contained in this venture, I feel like it gives a bit more breathing room to the philosophic work at hand here and I by all means expect this tangled garden to continue its sprawl which may or may not become evident to the casual observer.
With this I welcome you to the digital text of 99 Problems & The Excavation.
